The Catholic vote, why it may not be over for McCain

Politics

Charles Lewis notes in this web story, that registered Democrats who are practicing Catholics are having a hard time with voting for Barak Obama.  In one anecdotal story, a 38 year old mother of 6 said that she considers it a sin to vote for a pro-abortion candidate, and thus may not vote for Obama.  If she does, she will then confess her siin to her Priest.  The woman’s mother will reluctantly vote for pro-life McCain.

This may explain why Sarah Palin is talking about Obama’s infancticide support on the campaign trail.  While some Catholics may vote for a pro-choice candidate, then confess their sin, as the woman referenced above said she would have to do if she voted for Obama, the infanticide question may totally preclude a practicing Catholic from voting for Obama at any cost.

John Kerry likely lost the Presidency in 2004 because of the Catholic vote.  It could well cost Obama the election as well.
