As I review video and written accounts of the intolerant gay community's attack on supporters of California's Proposition 8, I was reminded of Obama's stance on the issue of gay marriage. During the campaign he was for it and against it. Obama said that he believes marriage should be between one man and one woman. He also said that he disapproved of Proposition 8 which amended the California constitution to limit marriage to one man and one woman.
The more I thought about it, the more I realized Obama got to take both sides on virtually every issue. Take abortion, as an example. Obama said that Americans should be able to agree on common ground, during the debates. But he promised to repeal the partial birth abortion ban, and to federally fund abortion on demand. America overwhelmingly opposes Obama's position, but they never were told about what his position was when he was addressing Planned Parenthood, by the Old School media.
Obama said he would repeal the Bush tax cuts for the rich during the debates, but told George Stephanopolous that he would wait to repeal the tax cuts. Obama said he supported the decision in the D.C. gun ban case interpreting the individual right to keep and bear arms, but fully supported legislation that limited the right to keep and bear arms.
You can go down the list on virtually every single issue, and discover diametrically opposed Obama positions on each issue. No wonder Tom Brokaw declared that he didn't know who Obama was. The guy was allowed to be everyone and no one.
Right now, the stock market is giving everyone a pretty good idea of who Obama is, in an economic sense. I don't think Americans are going to like it, if they find out who they really elected.
