UPDATED: Fascism Alert: Conyers/Frank Want Answers on ACORN Scandal, Call for Investigation of….O’Keefe and Giles?

Free Press is reporting that Democratic Representatives John Conyers (Chairman House Judiciary Committee) and Barney Frank (Chairman House Financial Committee) are caving under mounting pressure to investigate the ACORN scandal exposed by James O’Keefe and Hanah Giles – but there’s a sick fascistic twist – the two wunderkinds are also calling for an investigation of Big Government and the "individuals" who secretly shot the damning videos.  

Americans must pose the following question of our fearless leaders.  Do they also intend to investigate ABC, CBS, NBC and CNN?  All of whom have used the exact same journalistic tactics to expose outrageous and illegal activity for decades?  

Of course they do not intend to follow this path, because they are fascists.  Their intent here is not fairness or justice.  Their intent is clearly to invoke fear.  Conyers, Frank and the rest of the powers who are threatened by this new onslought of information seeking Americans want to send a clear message to anyone else who would dare seek to expose their corruption.  Do it, and you’ll be investigated by the full power of the U.S. government.  

The Clintons infamously used the IRS as a weapon against their enemies.  In the near future, congress may begin to up the ante with even heavier weapons against their new percieved enemies.  Expect more of this kind of tyranny in the coming months.

This isn’t the only act of intimidation of a private entity by government recently.  As Elephants in the Bluegrass points out, Senator Mitch McConnell today came to the defense of freedom of speech after Senator Max Baucus tries to intimidate Humana for taking a position against nationalized health care.  

There should be no question about the stakes involved in the current debate for the left.  There should also be no allusions about the depths to which they will sink to get this bill passed.  Gird your loins.
